Summer Berries

Image
This original watercolor captures a bowl of ripe strawberries nestled in a Hearth & Hand ceramic bowl, paired with a soft cloth napkin from my favorite California store, Kirkland’s. These cherished kitchen pieces bring warmth and familiarity to my still life work, reminding me of sweet summer days. Framed in flat black rustic wood, the piece blends modern simplicity with primitive charm, perfect for adding a touch of summer nostalgia to any space.

The Lobster Series

Image
Living on the coast of Maine, I am continually inspired by the textures, rhythms, and quiet strength of coastal life. My latest watercolor series centers around one of the state’s most iconic creatures: the Maine lobster. More than a symbol of travel and commerce, the lobster embodies a way of life. It is resilient, rooted in tradition, and beautifully singular.      Each piece begins with pen and ink, where I explore the lobster’s form through a mix of delicate pointillism and bold linework. This contrast mirrors the nature of the lobster itself. It is tough-shelled, yet full of subtle variations and unexpected beauty. No two lobsters are the same, and I aim to honor that uniqueness in every drawing. Once the ink settles, I layer bright, fluid watercolor to breathe life into each one, letting the paint echo the movement and color of the sea.      Through this series, I hope to evoke the feeling of a Maine summer: salty breezes,...

B U O Y GALLERY

Image
I participated in the 16th Annual Art Show at the B U O Y Gallery in Kittery, Maine.  My oil painting of my daughter and two dogs was on display for the public this Spring. I joined over 500 other local artist in this display. Every piece in the exhibit was created in the month of February.  Thank you to everyone that came out to see it.

New Oil Painting Day 1

Image
I decided to submit a painting to a local art show. It has been years since I have painted in oil and had a piece on public display so I wanted to challenge myself. This is a 36"x48" canvas. I combined several candid photos of my daughter and dogs to create it. I am not sure how far I am going to take it or if I will stay in sepia tones or if I will use a whole color pallet.

6.5 x 10" Watercolor on Paper "I cannot stand...and I am going to hold your had while I say this: Men, engineers. and I mean that with my full chest!           I don't know if you don't want to listen to me because I am a woman. I don't know if you don't want to listen to me because I am younger than you. I don't know if you're just actually that bad at your job. But I am siiiiick of going into meetings where I have to defend the data I have ALREADY gave you.  Like that data I gave you on May 24th that said, hey,  "This isn't going to work."  And then on May 28th, "Hey, this isn't gonna work." And then in June 12, "Hey, are we gonna fix this? This isn't going to work" And then again on July 8th.  And then all of a sudden we get this week and you're  flabbers gasted. Timbers shiver. Because your shit doesn't work and then I have to go into this meeting and say,  "You knew that. I told you that....
