"Do you know that women that get divorced are much more likely to not have a retirement and financially take a massive hit? And the majority of divorces, like 70% of divorces are asked for by women. And that right now, the highest divorcers right now are what they call, "the grey" or women above the age of 50. The women that are doing this are so courageous and so amazing because they're divorcing their husbands and they don't have any retirement, they don't have a 401K. They weren't paid for the emotional labor that they did in the relationship.

To all of the new people that generally don't watch this account, but to all of the new people in a new relationship, if you're going to start a family, please ask to be paid for the going rate for what emotional labor would be right now. And per year, a working Mom at the household would command at least $150,000.00 - $180,000.00

I also know that because, you know, looking into our future for boomers and retirees that are in that area, when they need to hire someone to come into the home to do what the "wife" usually does, it runs you at a starting line $180,000.00 a year. And that is them working just an 8 hour day, not the usual day that a Mom works.

If you were to get paid hourly, that would be even better because then the overtime would be a part of your everyday existence. So I want women to start thinking of this differently. I want money to go into their accounts because this is something that is a major factor in why women stay in relationships that are really awful for them.

And it's just like a plant in a garden that gets no wanter whatsoever. If you're expecting it to grow without any water, this is just not gonna happen. Same thing with a really bad relationship. It wilts you, it takes away your energy, it takes away your soul. But a lot of women in the later generations raised their family and had in that gave up anything that would be in a resume, gave up that retirement, gave up building that career. So right now, they're really stuck in a position that they don't wanna be in and it is terrifying.

And I know that this is something that older women would communicate with younger women, if given the chance. -HoodRiver Cabin
