"Hi this video is for White Women. If you would like to unpack some thoughts with me. Umm about,

1. Why now?

2. And the Glass Cliff

This is for you. Ready? Lets do it! Okay! This last week has been fascinating and wild and beautiful and curious and all kinds of things and feelings right? Okay. So, we are all jazzed and pumped up. We had that great, White Women Answer the Call on Thursday, we've raised 11 million dollars, we are following the leadership of Black Women, umm its been so great. But why now?

I've been listening to a lot of content creators, black content creators on this app and I'm in a Patreon called, "The White Women Whisperer" support group and I was listening to a video this morning while I was working. You know and the whole call last week too, everybody is like, do the work, you gotta do the work. And then when you look at black creators on this app, black women that are talking, you know we are all like, ra-ra in the comment,

"We are not going to let you down."

And I have the same feelings. And umm I got a comment yesterday, on one of my videos from a black women that said, theres like this extra layer. Which is, theres hope that they feel (that Black Women feel) umm but also it's scary as hell because they don't know which White Women to trust, it's like snakes in a field.

So, when we talk about the work we have to do, like we don't want to let Black Women down but what are we going to do different this time than last time? Why is it now this last week that we all went gang busters but we weren't going gang busters before, I mean, is it because it personally effects us now? I know that nobody was super jazzed on Biden.

So then this is where I want to talk about politically the Glass Cliff phenomenon, which is what I think is, we weren't as Democrats/Liberals/Left Leaning...whatever, we are not voting for Trump. Whatever the label is, it doesn't matter. For people who were like, hell fuckin' no on Trump. So then, the Glass Cliff phenomenon is where women and other marginalized groups (I'm reading this on the internet) are more likely to be promoted to leadership roles during times of crisis or downturn when the risk of failure is the highest." -Jess
