"Can someone explain to me the actual translation of what it means when someone says that you're intimidating? Because I don't understand! I have been told that by many people and yet I know for a fact that I'm nice. I know for a fact that I have opinions and that sometimes I express them.
But what does it actually mean when someone says that you're intimidating? Is it a compliment? Is it a diss? Is it a subliminal message, telling you to stop doing what you're doing?
I just don't understand. I try to rack my head, right, because I feel like I ask people for their opinions. I'm...I feel pretty polite to people that I meet. I've been told that I'm friendly. I've been told that uhh...I don't know, I'm like, welcoming to others. I feel like I try to get everyone's input if there's a group decision that needs to be made. I feel like I wanna make sure that everyone's thoughts and feelings are heard and expressed. But ay the end of the day, I still want a decision to be made.
So, is being maybe like, opinionated or trying to foster the direction of a conversation, considered intimidating? Someone please explain it. At the end of the day, whatever. I am going to take it as a compliment. I just would like to seriously understand what it means for those who say this type of a comment to people, I would just love to know." -Joy
