Stepping away from portraiture to work on this new series, "Maine: People/Places/Things" has allowed me to explore new ideas. I have given myself grace to experiment, which has been enlightening. I am constantly curious about composition and the effects I can create with the watercolor medium combined with the pen and ink. For the first time, I am embracing my home state, using the color blue more and incorporating birds.
